ICC Cricket World Cup Individual Batting Records

ICC Cricket World Cup is the world’s most famous and popular sporting event. Some astonishing batting records created in the ICC Cricket Wolrd Cup by the players are-

Whenever batting records are mentioned Master Blaster Sachin Tendulkar is a name that strikes first. India National Cricket Team player Sachin Tendulkar who is known as God of Cricket holds the record for the most runs scored at the Cricket World Cup.

He has scored 2,278 runs at the Wolrd Cup tournament. The player who stood second in the list of most runs scored is more than 500 runs away from his score. His highest run score record came at the Cricket World Cup 2003 while playing against Namibia.

Another amazing World Cup record his held by the Windies Cricket Team player Chris Gayle for the fastest double century which he made in 138 balls against Zimbabwe in the year 2015. Windies scored 372-2 from the 50 overs and defeated Zimbabwe by 73 runs through D/L. Chris Gayle was out for 215 but before that, he hit a total of 16 sixes in 147 balls.

Not only the record for the fastest double century but West Indies Chris Gayle also shares a record for the most sixes hit at the Cricket World Cup with South Africa National Cricket Team star player AB de Villiers. They both had hit 37 sixes till now.

When Chris made the record for the fastest double century in the World Cup against Zimbabwe in the World Cup 2015, he hit 26 sixes out of the 37 sixes in that year’s Cricket World Cup.

Now as ICC Cricket World Cup 2019 is not far, it will be interesting to watch if these records will be surpassed by the current cricketers or not.
